Let’s Find Some Benches
in Regent’s Park!
Bench 1
First stop on the Bench Tour! Take the tube to the Regent’s Park station. Exit the tube and go left on Marylebone Rd and cross to Park Square W. Then, enter the park and go left on the path. Your first bench will be on your right.
Bench 2
Continue down the park path in the same direction and you will come upon a less traditional bench. Do you think this counts as a bench?
Bench 3
Continue down the path until you get to an intersection and go right. Continue until you see the tennis courts; pass by them to reach the inner circle. Your next bench will be on your right, but there are many of the same bench in this area. You can find an open one as they are all the same.
Bench 4
Next, hang a right and follow the path towards the Japanese Garden island. There is a bench (or a couple) facing the water. Pick your favorite!
Bench 5
The next one is a bit of a hike (not really). Take the paths up the hill to the top of the waterfall. There are two benches here, take your pick!
Bench 6
Return to the main path after exiting the Japanese Garden and you’ll see a huge stretch of benches again. I chose one by the intersection and people-watched for a little bit.
Bench 7
This is where you cross into the more recreational part of the park. Exit the inner circle via the bridge across from the theater and there will be a bench very soon after the bridge ends.
Bench 8
Next, veer right on your path and continue towards the football fields. On your left, just of the path, you’ll see a statue called the Girl and the Fox. There a couple seats around her carved like animals.
Bench 9
Next, continue back on the path until you get to a junction. Take the sharp right turn and you’ll follow a path along the back of the London Zoo for an interesting view.
Bench 10
Carry on from the camel bench and continue down the path until you see a fountain. At the fountain go left.
Bench 11
Continue down this path and go left after the canal. Cross the street and find the bench beyond the telephone booth. This is the last bench of Regent’s Park. End the tour here if you don’t want to walk up a hill!
Bench 12
This our real last (albeit optional) bench on the tour. Climb up Primrose Hill and bathe in the glory of your completed travels and a beautiful city.
